PASSERIFORMES: Climacteridae
Cormobates leucophaea
I was wondering what had been chewing into a nearby tree fungus when a White-throated Treecreeper flew to the tree, worked its way up, and when it got to the fungus, took a few chunks out of it.
It may be that it was grabbing at small insects that were on the fungus but it appeared to me that perhaps the fungus was a diet supplement.
